Writing while Inebriated

It's 3pm in the afternoon on a Tuesday, and I am drinking Hansen's preservative and sugar free all natural flavors original cola with a shot of kirschwasser. I read somewhere that some of the most prolific and well known writers, such as Hemingway and Faulkner, wrote while they were liquored up. So in the spirit of camaraderie and in a lame attempt to channel the greats, I have mixed myself an afternoon cocktail.

First of all let me say that it tastes pretty bad. I was hoping it would taste like cherry coke with a little zip, but it doesn't.

Secondly I would like to note that I have a well-stocked liquor cabinet, albeit with bottles gathering dust, but well-stocked nonetheless. I could have mixed myself a pear beehive or a tangerine pomegranate martini, but there seemed something wrong about going to all that trouble in the middle of the afternoon, as if utilizing the martini shaker would somehow elevate this experiment from annecdotal to a stepping stone away from taking the floor at alcoholics annonymous.

....Intermission....

Okay. Here's the truth. The "cherry coke" made me sleepy, so I went off an took a nap. Moral of the story? I am incapable of writing while only slightly buzzed. Completely hammered? Forget about it.
